These harsh winters that coincided with ww II, which gave them their name, "the War Winters", were unique. Only a couple of times do I recall such conditions during my years at Rossö and never quite so severe. Sam Andersson took this picture of his wife, Lova. He has taken a number of the photos that I have published in these pages.
